    • Hospice care is a team of professionals and volunteers who provide physical, psychosocial and spiritual support for the terminally ill patient and patient's family.

  • Where can hospice care be provided?​

    • Hospice care can be provided at the patient's primary place of residence; whether it is at home, skilled nursing facility, or any other residential care facility.​

  • Can the patient choose his/her choice of physician when enrolled in hospice care?​

    • Yes, the patient can choose his/her own doctor when enrolled in hospice care if the physician agrees to hospice terms.​

  • How is the patient determined eligible for hospice?​

    • Eligibility is determined after the hospice nurse has performed the evaluation and the physician has completed a certification of terminal illness.​

  • Are there any out of pocket expenses for hospice benefits?​

    • No, hospice benefits are fully funded by Medical or Medicare A.​
