Yes, the patient can choose his/her own doctor when enrolled in hospice care if the physician agrees to hospice terms.​

How is the patient determined eligible for hospice?​

Eligibility is determined after the hospice nurse has performed the evaluation and the physician has completed a certification of terminal illness.​
